chicken violence

Last night at 3:am I heard bumping and screaming in my coop. Today we went out to see what was going on and it seems that there was a massacre in the nesting boxes. Four of my chickens are dead, blood everywhere. Since the coop is locked up tight
I guess they attacked each other. I am so sad. I thought they shared nesting boxes

What went wrong?

Sorry for your losses. Most likely your coop is not as tight as you think and you had a predator visit, a weasel can fit thru a 1 inch hole.....I seriously doubt that your flock killed 4 of it's members.......unless the dead are smaller and newer than the rest.

More info about your coop, pics would be great.....
...... and flock, age, how long you've had them, etc.....
...and info about the wounds on the deceased birds might help solve the mystery.

I'll need more info.Chickens are weird birds.I doubt a few hens could kill 4 hens.How long have you had these babies?
