HI all,

Just wanted to do a quick introduction to the site. Doing the move to a 10 acre farm north of Whitby, ON from a 2 bedroom condo downtown and could not be more excited

You could not know any less about farm life and chickens than us but that wont discourage...

I was a carpenter by trade so I will be sure to post my coop when it's done. i tend to go overboard so expect an infinity pool and fireplace... ;o)

If anyone has a coop and is willing to allow me to pop over, maybe help a little and ask inane questions that would be much appreciated.

I am also an importer/supplier of Chia seeds (do a Google search on Chia and omega3 content of eggs) here in Canada so if anyone wants some for your chickens send me a direct message.

Hope to be a useful member here soon enough.

Welcome! We didn't know much about it all either, but this site is awesome! We built our coop based on a design we found here...made a few modifications to suit our own needs, but kept the basic plan. We make a few changes as we go along finding out what works and what doesn't, but I think that's pretty much par for the course.

How I envy you your land! We're stuck on 1/4 acre here in a suburban setting so we have to do everything on a very small scale, but hey...ya do what ya can, right?
