Chicken vs Quail Economics

A quail eats 36 gms while a hen eats 100gms per day (2.77 times). By weight quail weighs 250gms in 8 weeks while a medium hen weighs 1.5. kg (6 times) in the same period. How is quail a more efficient bird ?

I think that the reason is, by eight weeks, a coturnix quail should be laying eggs. A chicken takes 22+. And quail lay much larger eggs, proportionately. Also, faster incubation time?
