I was really surprised to find this in the nesting box, right next to my broody girl Punky..

Oh boy, that brings back my Arizona days. I hated how the desert thunder storms would bring all the creepy crawlies into the house. We'd get those big boys on the walls then.

I'm totally not surprised your hen took care of it. Good girl.

The larger scorpions are less poisonous than the small ones. Those little ones are the ones that can really do harm.

Glad for my rainy Oregon...no scorpions up here.

Congratulations on your watchful hen. But I'd look twice gathering eggs now.

I sure wasn't sure how a hen would deal with it I'm glad to know they can take care of themselves lol

I also have found out snakes even poisonous ones would rather "run" from my chickens also a relief

Yes...chickens can be ruthless.

I have a friend with a flock of chickens (big surprise). They were working in the backyard one day when they noticed their barn cat "playing" with a mouse. It tossed it in the air, and as the mouse came back to ground, the mouse looked at the cat and then looked at the chicken pen. It dove for the chicken pen. "It chose poorly." The hens rushed over in mass and ripped the mouse to shreds within seconds.

Yes, some flocks are very good hunters too.
