Good day,
We are newer chicken owners and woke up to our rooster having one incredibly swollen ankle. It looks like he has an abrasion across the top - we soaked it in warm water and sprayed with vetericyn and put some neosporin on it as well. We're wrapping in gauze for now. He can't use his toes/foot at all and it's so swollen. It was chilly last night, but only down to 40 and his comb and other foot are fine, and as of yesterday, he was fine. There just seems to be the swelling and large skin issue on top, and we were hoping someone might have some experience/advice on what we might do next for him. Could this have been a cut that got infected (could it go from nothing of note to this in one day)? Thanks so much for any help or direction anyone can provide.
