Chicken w/watery stool - what to do?

One of my hens (4 months old) has watery diarrhea. No blood, no color at all. I can't get a sample to bring to the vet.

I'm suspecting some kind of worms but I am a newbie. Anyone have any suggestions? Honestly, I don't even know if my vet would look at a chicken or its stool.

She is acting fine, eating fine, seems okay otherwise. Noticed it yesterday and today. Our other hens seem to be fine.

Anything I can get at our local feed store to help?

ETA: Will a de-wormer hurt if that is not the issue? I'm kinda grasping at straws here and all the reading I'm doing is making me worry even more!

Has the weather been very hot? Did she drink too much water too fast? Are you sure she is eating fine? If she is eating I'm wondering why the poo is watery? Is her crop impacted maybe and the food can't go through?

To be on the safe side I would separate her from the others until you get more symptoms and know what you are dealing with.

Heavy drinking during hot days often causes watery looking stools. If she goes from normal to watery and back to normal, she is probably fine. Just monitor to make sure no other symptoms.

The weather has been very hot. (We're in FL) - but not as hot as it had been.

Actually, I have only seen the watery stool but today will look and see if it changes at all (I hope so!) Oh, and I forgot to mention that yesterday it sounded like she had gas when the watery stool came out.

She's drinking okay but I will go check her crop this morning (first time doing this - I'm such a newbie!)

Now if she had worms, the rest of the chickens would likely have the same symptoms too, right?

Thanks all. I really appreciate it.

Did you find an answer to this question? I have a hen with similar symptoms and her comb is flopped over. She had mites when we got her, but is now mite free (I think). She has been slow to get new feathers. I do feed yogurt irregularly.
Thanks for any help,
Carol
