Hello all I have a 3 year old australorpe that has been acting funny since Tuesday the 14th. I immediately brought her in and checked her for a stuck egg. I didn’t feel one but thought I would treat her for it as I have never had an egg bound chicken before.

It is now Friday and she is still acting the same. I have given her many epsom salt baths, given her electrolytes, calcium and probiotics. She is eating and drinking, not as much as she usually does though.

Her poop ranges from normal to runny and I have had a few that looked like cat poop. I am not sure what to do at this point. Any advice in what to do or what might be wrong?

Is her abdomen bloated at all? That can cause them to waddle and usually indicates egg yolk peritonitis.

Has she laid eggs recently? An upright stance with the tail down is a common thing with hens who are suffering from egg yolk peritonitis or internal laying (salpingitis.)

Do you have a picture? If you can get one of her belly that would be good. I think if she were egg bound she would be dead by Noe but I'm no expert

I do let me see if I can figure out how to post it

No not in the last few days. My chickens are just starting to lay again. So not sure which is laying what yet.
