I have three 11 week old barred rock chickens and some other breeds along with some 3 year old hens. One of the barred rock chickens has a very strange way of walking she almost hops when she runs. She's done this since she was little. In fact when she was very tiny she would run and kind of fall on her face like She would trip over her own feet or She was top heavyor something. She seems to be heavier than the others and her legs are larger. I'm positive she's a Pullet and not a roowhich was what I thought at first . She sits a lot more than the others and she's sitting even more as she gets older. It's like the heavier she gets the more she doesn't want to walk. I was trying to get a video of her little run hop but of course she wouldn't do it until after I turned my camera off.

Any ideas or experience with chickens that might possibly have one leg slightly shorter than the other or maybe they're just super uncoordinated? I added a few pictures of all of them. She's the one closer to me and the one sitting down in the one picture.

She looks like a he in the lighter coloring, and no horn color on the front of the legs, but I don’t seen any saddle or hackle feathers that look like it yet.

Can you post a pic of him standing from the front? He could have one of the leg bone deformities, such as varus valgus or TD deformity. Do you see any swelling or redness in his hock joint? I would probably try some poultry vitamins with trace minerals daily for awhile to see if that helps. Here is some reading about leg deformities:

I think it's the angles of my pictures that are making that particular chicken look more mail. I took pictures of the legs and a couple where it's looking at me. I'm almost positive it's a girl. The right leg looks bigger than the left leg to me and it always has. they're both straight though....

I just noticed the egg laying there. I had started cleaning the nesting boxed and Joyce (or Joe) hopped over to give me good access to a picture. I didn't want anyone to think my girls lay in the middle like that. Lol another leg picture.
