1) What type of bird , age and weight (does the chicken seem or feel lighter or thinner than the others.)
Appenzeller spitzhauben hen, ~8 months, 2lbs and lighter than others.
2) What is the behavior, exactly.
Found sitting by herself in run, wings extended, open mouth breathing. No worms, no mites, no throat/eye discharge. Originally though heat exhaustion due to weather, but not improving being under a/c.
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms?
4 days
4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms?
Had another hen off food, switched brands, progressed to wings held out. She passed a month ago.
5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma.
None.
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation.
Nothing to my knowledge. Birds were dewormed 1-2 months ago, have been given mite treatment.
7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all.
She’s currently drinking electrolytes and nutridrench, ate some yogurt and grapes 2 days ago but uninterested yesterday.
8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc.
Watery, small green “rice kernel” in shape and size.
9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far?
I tried a shot of La-200 just in case: I do not want to lose this hen. It did not have an effect. I have no idea what to treat as it’s not worms, bugs, or seemingly respiratory.
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet?
I would consider going to a vet, but would prefer to treat at home if at all possible. Vets here are very expensive and I have a large flock.
11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.

12) Describe the housing/bedding in use
Currently inside in pine bedding filled doc crate, outside was in sandy run. Coop has pellet bedding floor.
