Chicken Weather

I think my feather babies are really enjoying our cool weather. They are eating like crazy. They have their own food. But my feather babies love my dog (Mikey's) food also. He eats Purina dog chow. Does anyone know if it's ok,
They also love MEALWORMS. That's their specialty. And when its 5:00 PM,. They are all waiting on my porch in front of my door, because they know that is the time they get their MEALWORMS. And this is everyday. I kid you NOT.

My chickens, cats, spouse and I are all enjoying the weather.
Dog food and mealworms are great for chickens but keep in mind they are treats. Treats should only be about 10% of your chickens diet. Otherwise you are depriving them of the balanced diet that a good quality chicken food provides.

It sounds like your flock has you well trained. Aim to keep ALL treats to less than 10% by weight of their total diet.
