Chicken Wire as fencing Question

We were going to let our chickens free range this summer but they are wandering too far off the property for my liking so we are going to build a fence primarily to keep them in and dogs out. I know chicken wire isnt great against a lot of predators, but we have a dog and have had no problems all fall/winter with predators. We are gonna use metal posts as well as trees to secure the fence to.

So, just how tall does it have to be to keep the chickens IN? Their wings were clipped last year, when do they need to have it done again??

Thanks

ETA: This run is only for the day, at night they are in a very secure coop.

Because they're used to going off the property, I'd use 60" fence. Since they've already had a taste of freedom, I think 48" would not be a big enough (or high enough I should say...lol) deterrent for keeping them in, even with clipped wings. That's not to say they couldn't make it over 5' fence if they really wanted to, but I think it'd be less likely.

I have 8ft fence. Plus I clip their wings. Because if they really want out, clipped wings only slow them down.

But we clip the adults wings about 1 time a month or as needed. Younger ones can need it every 2 weeks or less. They grow fast!!
