Yesterday we noticed one of our two year old wyandottes was limping. She was still walking around with the flock all day and seemed to be getting around alright. I wanted to check her out yesterday but she’s difficult to catch. This morning, she didn’t come down from the roost on her own. I was able to catch her there and inspected her leg and foot. There was nothing obviously wrong from what I could tell. It didn’t look like bumblefoot, and there wasn’t any kind of damage to the skin. It didn’t look or feel like anything was broken either, and she can move her leg. I put her on the ground and she went right to walking around with the flock, though still limping. Is there anything else I should look for? Any advice is appreciated.

If you wish to share some photos of her, her poop, the legs and feet those may be helpful.

When is the last time this hen laid an egg?

If she's laying consistently, then I would keep watch on her for a few days to see if the limping improves. It's possible she sprained the leg jumping from a roost(?) or she may have something else going on.

We’re starting to suspect it’s an injury or a sprain, my stepdad said he saw her freaking out about something yesterday so that could have been when it happened, and the roosts are pretty high. The limp started pretty suddenly too, she was fine 2 days ago. I’m not sure when she last laid an egg, everyone has been a little inconsistent lately and we think some are hiding eggs. I’ll see if I can get some pics in the morning, she was pretty squirmy when I had her today and I didn’t have time to get any. She’s eating alright and still walking around with everybody else, and she’s been putting weight on the foot.

I am also dealing with this same thing. I noticed my leghorn limping yesterday evening and I ended up keeping her in the chicken hospital in the garage overnight. Still limping this morning but I did end up putting her back with the flock in their coop because she just looked so depressed. I'm hoping she gets better soon. She doesn't seem egg bound and her feet looked fine. How is your girl doing now?

She’s still limping, but it doesn’t seem to be getting worse. My best guess is a sprain or strain. I ended up pretty busy yesterday and forgot to try to get pics.

I hope she gets better soon. My girl is also still limping but my husband confirmed she laid an egg so I know she isn't egg bound. Have you checked to see if she's been laying?

We’re not sure if she’s laying right now, we have 3 other wyandottes so can’t confirm by egg color. I haven’t seen her in a nest lately, but she could do it when I’m not looking, or could be one of the ones we suspect of hiding eggs. She doesn’t feel egg bound though.
