Hi!

1) What type of bird , age and weight (does the chicken seem or feel lighter or thinner than the others.) ISA Brown. Eleven months. She seems about the same weight as the others of her breed.
2) What is the behavior, exactly. She has Bumblefoot, which we treated. She is still limping, since the bumble was really big. Her crop has not emptied overnight. Her breath does not smell, as far as I can tell.
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms? Since yesterday.
4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms? Some of the others have Bumblefoot, but I haven't noticed the crop issue.
5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma. Nope, except her foot bled when she cut out the bumble.
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation. Not sure.
7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all. She ate the mash I gave them, fought over a watermelon rind, and ate some scratch.
8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc. It looked normal yesterday.
9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far? Massaged the crop.
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet? I probably have to treat at home.
11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help. Sorry, it's hard to take a picture of a full crop.
12) Describe the housing/bedding in use. She is with her twelve LF sisters in a 192sqft run and a four-by-six coop. I use pine shavings in the coop and dirt and wood stove pellets in the run.

Please help!

Have you tried massaging it? Sorry I am not a real expert here. I don't think the bumble foot and crop are related though

I have massaged it.

I didn't think they were related, except this chicken has not been roosting (either she can't get up with her injured foot or she is being picked on when she tries to get up), so maybe she is not in the right position for digesting?

hmm that's a really in-depth thought. It's possible. Also are you able to treat her bumble? I have a non surgical way I used on my girl I can share if you want. I'm really surprised no one else is answering you.

I did treat her bumble. It was one of the biggest on all my girls and she was very visibly limping. We tried a non-surgical way on some of them and it only worked on the very mild cases. However, I would be happy to hear your idea, as most of my girls have Bumblefoot as well.

Same hen as in this thread from last week?

Is she pooping? What does that look like? Photos please.
Look inside her beak for any lesions or canker.
If the crop is not emptying overnight, then read this article and start treatment.

Yes, same girl.

I have not seen her poop, but when I got home today her crop was much better. She has an okay appetite. I do not see anything in her beak, but she doesn't particularly like me looking in it.

She has nice, bright eyes.

The strange eye issue and droopy chin have seemingly resolved themselves. I think her eyelid had been pecked and that was why it was swollen.

She has been laying down more often, but I think that is because her foot hurts.
