1) What type of bird , age and weight (does the chicken seem or feel lighter or thinner than the others.)
Silver Sussex 2 yrs she looks thinner as she's moulting!
2) What is the behavior, exactly. She has always had one smaller pupil but today I noticed it had gone lighter and it has a odd appearance!
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms? Only noticed today!
4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms? No!
5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma. She has a slight limp, but they all seem to be regrowibg their scales after scaly leg nite last year.
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation. I don't know of anything.
7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all. Growers Pellets, layers mash, corn, kitchen scraps anything she can find.
8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc.
She free ranges so I can't tell!
9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far?
Nothing.
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet?
Treat myself!
11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help. I will!
12) Describe the housing/bedding in use
The coop leaks and I use wood shavings
I am going away first thing tomorrow for 2 weeks so I dont want to make this too complicated for the friend that's looking after them.

The pupil being small with a lighter iris could have been an eye injury from a peck, and sometimes the ocular form of Mareks disease can cause a small pupil with graying of the iris. I would lean a little more toward it being an injury. Is she able to find her way around and get food and water? When I had a Polish hen who was blind in one eye, she would sometimes not be able to find her way back to the coop if she went through the gate. She could get food and water, but I always did a head count in the evening.

Someone who saw her small pupil said it could be a injury. I was just worried about the iris' change of colour form orange to yellow. I dont think she's blind in that eye, she was looking at me out of it anyway and she seems fine otherwise! Thank you so much.
