chicken with huge amt of fluid in her abdomen/bottom

my hen is waddling, her back end almost touches the ground - huge abdomen full of fluid. She is acting normal, but is about a pound heavier with fluid. I have had chickens all my life, have never seen this.

Yours may not have the same problem as mine, and it was my choice to put her down. What you do with yours is a personal decision that only you can make. I hope she turns out OK.

Wow, amazing thread. Thank you. Sounds exactly like my hen. walking like a pengin, acting normal, not laying eggs anymore. She was laying eggs with out any problems-maybe uptill 2, close to 3 weeks ago. She is an Aracona, Im spelling it wrong, lays blue eggs, about a year old. I'll keep you posted, she is not in pain. I was not able to open up the pictures, but your description was good enough to understand the issue.
