Chicken with injured leg

Our Barred Rock started limping 4 weeks ago. We immediately separated her from the flock and have been keeping her in a big box. We have also been letting her sleep in the house where she likes to perch on one of our kitchen chairs until we kick her out in the morning. We let her roam the yard for a couple hours a day. She has been laying pretty much every day and she shows no other signs of distress and we can't see any reason she should be limping. We have been giving her asprin, electrolytes and vitamins in her water, and pretty much treating her like a queen. For a while the limp was looking a little better, but now it is looking as bad as it started. Needless to say it's not really sustainable and we're not sure what else we should try or look for. She could have a sprained leg or hip. I would place her in a crate or cage with food and water for 2-3 weeks. The forced rest may help it heal. She could be re-injuring the hip or leg with jumping or too much walking. I have a hen just like her right now, and I feel bad keeping her caged since she wants to be with the other chickens during the day down under their favorite pine tree.

Thank you so much! I think you may be right. She may be making the injury worse by using it. I feel bad confining her, but I'll have to get over her being mad at me.
