So we have a chicken who is "vomiting" up this clear, egg white colored mucus and is swallowing often (probably to clear her throat). No other big symptoms except for not really eating but she hasn't been fed anything or been in the coop with the food. She is drinking water and she is usually slow but she seems a little slower, tired almost. Can anyone help in figuring out what this is, and how to fix it?!!:fl

How does her crop feel? Is it empty in the morning before she eats/drinks?
How long has this been going on?

You mention that she is usually slow - explain that.
How old is she, when did she last lay an egg?
Any bloat/swelling or fluid in the abdomen?
Is she able to poop - what does that look like?
Any lesions or canker inside the beak or throat?
Photos of your hen(?) may be helpful as well.

Hi, thank you for trying to help, we figured it was an impacted crop, and so we cleared it out and she seemed fine. But then today, she went and laid in the nesting box, and was still and not wanting to open her eyes, even when i lifted her head up and was petting her. Then i went and made her some yogurt and egg stuff to try and see if she would eat and when i went out there she stood up and had her eyes open and was eating it, but then she laid back down. Then, a little later, we checked on her and she was obviously dying, her head was flopping around, not moving, she pooped on herself and had weird vomit. So we went back inside for a minute and decided we should end her suffering. But we went back out and she was already dead. Could sour crop do that? I am still doing research, but haven't found anything that is exactly like her symptoms.

I'm very sorry for your loss :hugs

It would be hard to know what was going on with her unless you send the body to your state lab for necrospy or if you still have the body do one yourself. You may find something "obvious" in the abdomen or reproductive system, the condition of heart/liver may tell you something and of course looking at the gizzard to see if it was impacted.
