Hi guys, my first post, we've had chickens since June this year, we have 10 in total, totally in love ... today we noticed one has her eye closed, we're not sure if she's maybe bashed it jumping off the top roost (we've recently added some extra nesting boxes below). Any thoughts/ideas/guidance would be greatly appreciated. Notice in the picture she's holding on tight to her mealworm which she was munching on when I picked her up!

That can happen to birds, just like us sometimes, they either get poked in the eye by a branch, get pecked, etc. If there is no swelling, or discharge, which it doesn't look like there is, I'd personally leave it for now.

If you want you could flush it with some saline, or eyewash, just to get rid of any debris if present, but that would be the most I do.

Aww that's great, Thank You, that makes total sense, and like you say there appears at the moment to be no swelling, so that's good. I'll leave it for now, but will keep an eye on it. Thanks again :love
