My hen has sour crop and has been on medication but is still losing weight and not getting better.

She has been on 150 mg fluconazole for three weeks at 0.5 ml. She was getting better but now she is wobbly and a little tired and her weight is about 2.49 lbs. She is a four year old, golden sex link. She has been eating but it doesn’t seem like it’s giving her nutrients. She has a small ball again and it’s just pure liquid feeling. She is tired and I don’t want to lose her

Four years is starting to push it for a bird that is bred for heavy production (egg laying). She might be dying as sorry as I am to say that. Nonetheless, we'll try to help.

First and most importantly, make sure she stays hydrated. Nothing else will work if she doesn't get water in her. If you have to hand-water her, do so using a syringe (without the needle) or an eye-dropper following this guide for where to place the dropper in her mouth:

Next, are you sure it's Sour Crop and not Impacted Crop? Sour Crop comes with a foul smell from the bird's mouth area; Impacted Crop usually does not. Here's a quick guide to determine what you're dealing with:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...w-to-know-which-one-youre-dealing-with.73607/

What was she prescribed the Fluconazole for, Sour Crop, Slow Crop, or something else?
What does her diet consist of?
Does she free range, and what does she eat while doing so?
What treats does she get and how often?
When was the last time she passed a stool? Please provide photos of recent stools.
How much is she eating; does it look like she's consuming the same as her flock-mates?
What has the temperature been like in Prescott for the last week or so?
Has she been treated for internal parasites (worms) or treated for Coccidiosis?
Was she vaccinated as a chick against Mareks or other diseases?
Have you checked her for external parasites, paying close attention to the vent, under wings where they meet the body, the feet and legs, and around the neck/head?

2.4 lbs is light for a mature Golden Sex-Linked chicken. If she's Impacted and has developed Sour Crop, getting a pro-biotic into her will help quell the yeast that's building up and causing the smell. For pro-biotic, Greek Yogurt works well mixed with moist feed, as does Rooster Booster and Sav-A-Chick products mixed with Water. If given in Water or in Moist Feed, wait a few minutes, then massage her crop for as much as 5 to 10 minutes to work the therapeutic into the Impaction that's causing the Crop issues.

Report back and we can go from there with Impaction issues. I'm sure the experts here will chime in too. They are invaluable in helping work through chicken issues such as this...

She has been in the house for weeks. It started out as impaction but turned into sour crop. When she was impacted she was on a lower dose of fluconazole, but after she came off of it it turned into sour. I had to take her to the vet on a emergency because one morning she was just full to the hilt with liquid and they made her throw up about 3 times. She started the stronger dose of fluconazole three weeks ago. She got the impaction because a few weeks before that, she had coccidious so the vet prescribed her baytril and metronidazole. I believe the baytril caused the impaction. She didn’t get a lot of sleep because she was up all night really so I am think that might be why she is trying to sleep standing up. She is standing and can walk, she is wobbly but she can get moving. She gets a little chatty at me when I pick her up. I think that I am going to have to ask the vet for a different medication because I think that it isn’t as effective as it should be because she was on it already. She is rubbing her nose on the straw because I got apple sauce on her nose

The second one is what she was pooping a few hours ago. The first one is what she pooped this morning and the others are ones that she pooped within days

Have you been giving a probiotic? Fluconazole is about the most powerful antifungal medicine that can be used. Medistatin or nystatin are sometimes used. The baytril and metronidazole are very powerful, wiping out both good and bad bacteria, and fungal infections can occur due to their use. I have only had crop problems in older hens which were secondary to another problem, such as reproductive disorders or other diseases. Plain Greek yogurt, buttermilk have probiotics, but you can powder packets from your vet that are more powerful.

I believe that the baytril and metronidazole together caused the yeast. She has never had a problem before that and I wouldn’t have gave her the medication if I knew it would cause that. The vet prescribed it for her so I thought it was safe. I did give her kelif but after she drank that, she had to go to the emergency because she was just throwing up loads of yeast liquid. I have been giving her applesauce and her kibble because she won’t eat anything else no matter what I do to it . She isn’t so weak that
she can’t get up she is just tired but she was up almost all night

When a crop disorder refuses to respond to treatment, I will resort to a flush to wash the yeast out of the chicken's system along with any obstructed material.

Since you are seeing a vet, ask them for a tube feeding kit (catheter and feeding syringe). Ask them to show you how to use it. It's very easy and efficient once you see how it's done. This is the easiest way to get the solution into the chicken and easiest on the chicken.

The flushing solution consists of one teaspoon Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) in half cup warm water. This is tubed directly into the crop and all of the solution goes in. This can be done twice a day for up to three days. This is safe and will often resolve the yeast and any impaction.

Follow the treatment with probiotic tablets or Greek yogurt unsweetened.

Glad to see azygous and Eggcessive picked this up last night as I thought they might! :)

I got side-tracked with "chicken" duties late into the evening, but you are in GREAT hands.
