Chicken with twisted leg

Hello,

my chicken is about 4 weeks old now. About 2 weeks ago we noticed her leg was sticking out sideways. She eats and drinks fine but doesn’t walk around much. Every now and then she hops. Not sure what to do, we had her legs wrapped together for about a week taking it off sometimes but didn’t seem to help. She’s separated from the other Chickens.

It looks like a bone deformity called twisted tibia, unfortunately. There is probably nothing you can do to remedy it. At some point, it could be possible to make an artificial limb, but I would make sure that she can get around to food and water. Some of these chicks may learn how to get around with a disability, while some may not thrive. This article is about a local chicken who has an artificial limb strapped onto it’s deformed leg:
