Chicken with white build up on eyes and going blind

Can someone help me ?? I have had several hens that i have had to put down in the last two weeks because they are getting a "white build up " on there eyes and are going blind and then i can tell the rest are ganging up on the ones that have attracted it because of there feathers missing on there back and they are getting weak very fast. Can someone please tell me something i can do before anymore of my chickens attract what ever this is causing them to go blind. TY~ God Bless
