hate to be the bearer of bad news but some breeds just arnt very good layers. but then again some breeds that are noted as good layers have some individuals that just dont perform very well.
We have a silver seabrite banty that has given us maybe 2 eggs in the last 9 months.

Well depending on breed they may have reached "maturity" just as the weather started to change, and the days started getting shorter. If they don't have enough light they will not lay, and some stop laying or reduce production when it gets colder.

What are you feeding them? They need a balanced diet of layers pellets(or crumble) and crushed oyster shell.

What breeds do you have? I know some of the heavy breeds can wait to lay as late as 10 months old.

We have cochins bantam, standard and some leg horn . No one is laying daily or even good.
We might get 1 or 2 eggs every couple weeks. I feed a multi-flock. Do I need to change to a egg layer?
My daughter is going to be showing these chickens in some shows this fall and we don't want yellow birds. We have more whites then blacks.
I can deal with no eggs from here on out this fall but they don't lay in the spring much either!!
My standards cochins males are good because I got 3 (yes I said 3) chicks this spring that I hatched.
I started the year off with 2 white bantam and now have about 15 show birds.
Black bantam not so good. Started with a trio and now have 4 birds.. WOW!! Now they are yard birds.
I put every egg in the bater and was throwing allot of egg out after 10 to 15 days.
    Thanks Blackjack1
