Chicken yard finished... for now ;) **more Pics Added- details**

I'll get some more detailed pics in the morning and post for you Aran.

I used this type of clamp, large enough to fit around the PVC and my fence posts. I used two per end of the PVC - so 4 per arc.

At the far end I couldn't get the clamp around the fence post without going outside the fence into the brambles, so I attached to the stretcher bar of the chainlink and put a short length of PVC beside the end of the arc to make it a big enough diameter for the clamps to work.

Anyway, I'll update this with pics in the morning.

OK, Aran, here's your pics...!

A couple shots showing closeups of the clamps and how I attached the ends of the arcs to my fence. Note in the one pic (where the fence is covered in vegetation) how I added a second short length of PVC pipe to give enough size to use the clamps since I had to clamp to the stretcher bar of the fence rather than the post. I was too lazy to fight through the brambles to go on the outside of the fence to attach around the post. Also, in the one pic you can see my chicken security system, the 'Cassie Sheltie 2000'.

Here's more info on the deer netting. In this pic you can see my happy chickens and also what the netting looks like up close - you can hardly see it at all from a distance as it just blends in to the view.

Here's a pic of the packaging - got it at Lowe's where they sell the landscaping fabric, NOT where they sell the fencing.

Finally, a closeup of how I have it attached with the cable ties to the PVC arcs as well as connected the lengths of netting together down the length. At some point I will get around to trimming the cable ties off, but for now, I figure it may help the chickens realize the netting is up there and not try to fly into it.

Hope these pics help! Best thing about my run cover other than keeping the chickens in, is being able to stand up and move around freely in the run myself!

thanks for that arlee..i already have the deer netting stretched across of the 6 foot chainlink fence but that idea of yours is superb...would add another couple of feet of head room!

wow! looks great! where did you get that dear netting? We need to cover our run soon because we have little escape artists!

Deer netting purchased at Lowe's home improvement. It was with the landscape fabric, NOT the fencing area. About $12 a roll for 7ft by 100 ft.

wow! that's a good price! also, since there's so much, I can double layer it so my pullets wont fly into it!

Boy, we north carolinans must think alike. I used pvc pipe to fix a roof over my dog lot about 6 years ago. I used the same clamps you used. I put a tarp over the top and ty-wrapped it to the sides and back. It lasted until last year when I took it apart to make chicken houses. Works great!!!
