How big should I make my fenced chicken yard for 6 leghorns? Want to be sure they have enough outside space without giving them the whole yard. How many square feet do they need outside?

The recommendation is 10sqft per bird, so something like 6x10 or bigger.

But if you want a spot to lock them in, then a minimum would be 10sf per hen.
If they will be locked in for life go much bigger. I have my 4 1/2 hens in a 200 sf run and it is "ok".
