That other guy
In the Brooder
Hey everyone!
My chickens at night are all crowding around the pop door and sleeping there, instead of roosting up on the bars... They're about 7 weeks old right now, so I'm wondering if they are just too young and havent learned to get onto the roosting bars at night. But during the day they get on them no problem, all the way up to the top. Its weird, thoughts on getting them to get on there, or will they do it themselves. Note: the lights go off around 730-8 when theyre all in there and they havent even started to get up onto the bars by that point.
I'm putting two new batches of chicks into the coop soon (both are at 4 weeks old). Both groups are 6 birds each, 6 guineas are in there now, and next will be 6 cinnamon queens. So my question is how long should they be segregated from the rest of the birds before being thrown to the wolves so to speak?
Also how long would it take guineas to imprint on the house before being released to free range?
Thanks!
