Hey everyone! So, I’ve had my four chickens for a few months now and they’ve had the same coop from the start. We just moved the coop into a more shadier spot near trees but for the past two nights they haven’t been going in there at night. Instead they’ve been perching on an old bird cage we have in the corner of our back yard. Any reason why they would be doing this?

Chickens don't do well with change. Even something as simple as rotating the coop in spot by 90 degrees will confuse them and some may refuse to go in.

You can either keep them locked in the coop and run there for a few days, to home them to that spot, or manually put them in each night until the figure it out.

It seems kind of small for 4 hens. If they feel crowded they wont go in there.
Oh no don’t worry it’s actually quite spacious, it was just a bad angle. They’ve been living in there for months now, I think it’s just the new location that’s throwing them off

That’s what I’ve been having to do, thank you for the tips!
