Chickens age

I have a Barred Rock hen I adopted from a teacher who hatched chicks as a school project She has had a lot of trouble being accepted by my other two hens and is still somewhat of an outcast She is larger than the hens and has a floppy comb I was told she was almost a year old but I was also told she may be older Any way I can tell with some accuracy how old she may be

you can't really tell by the comb because i have a cochin hen that is 2 and she don't even hardly have one and i have some other breeds that are about 19 weeks old and there's are twice the size of her's
