Well today is my chickens first thunder storm!!!!! It's a bad one might I add!
What keeps your chickens clam during bad thunder storms????
Is there anything to do that make them clam?!
Do they get used to it ( I live in a area with lots of thunder storms! )
(AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH A HUGE LIGHTING/THUNDER JUST HAPPENED RIGHT AS POST THIS!!!! GOOD THING IM ON MY PHONE AHHHHHHH THERE'S MORE THIS IS CRAZY!!!! POOR CHICKENS HELLLLLPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!

Have you checked on your chickens? Do they seem scared?? We only get about 10 big thunderstorms per year, and even my chickens don't get very scared. Sometimes they get a bit jumpy or scared, but it's never been too terrible. Are you able to go out and check on them? If you do and you notice some are really scared, just hold the chickens that are really scared and talk to them until they calm down. That always works to calm my chickens!

They can sense when you are nervous or scared, which makes them scared. So try and act calm and then they will calm down too :D

My chickens don't mind thunder storms. Maybe it just takes time for them to get used to thunder.

My chickens aren't scared of storms. They made it through hurricane Sandy (outside, with exploding transformers, falling trees, thunder, lightning, etc.) without fear, so mine are probably some of the toughest chickens around. As for yours, if they do not seem frightened, just leave them be. If they do, well, I don't know.
