This is something I've been wanting to do for quite some time. I am purchasing 5 chicks from Hatchbawks for pets with bennifits! :D I've been a bird fan since I can remember and I am a supporter of the incredible edible egg.

I'm going with:
A Barred Rock
Specled Sussex
Cuckoo Maran
Gold Laced Wyandotte
Silver Laced Wyandotte

I'm a big fan of crazy colors.
I will be posting a pict of my coop and brooder box.

I love the idea that people are getting into chicken keeping. I think we (Americans) are too detached from our food. It takes alot of work to make an egg!

I would love to hear from my neighbors and how they are getting along with their flocks:cd. I'm downtown by the Art Center.

Glad you joined us! I look forward to seeing you post pictures of your chicks and reading about your journey into chickens.

Has anyone explained chicken math to you? When you love crazy colors you might find yourself ordering a lot of chickens over time.

chicken mate goes like i am going to get 5, then you see something interesting and you get a few more, then you have to hatch some cause you got some eggs and say oh lets see what happens,
then, then, then, then, and before you know it your a chicken farmer with 100 plus in your flock. Good luck.
