Chickens and ashes

What about ashes from the charcoal grill for the chicken's dust bath? Any harm from charcoal?

My birds love their dust bath, and I plan to continue with the dirt, sand, wood ash, and DE combination. BUT, is it ok to throw in the charcoal ashes too?

To my understanding, charcoal is made from hardwood. So, I wouldn't expect that they would be any problem.

have dumped my ashes in the corner of the run for 7 yrs now chickens love it , never had a problems
