don't know how to put this but the other night I was putting my flock to bed and well my Plymouth like I could hear her breathing. It was a little heavy I guess. I thought she was wheezing but I don't think that counts as wheezing. She seems fine and no sign of illness I don't think. Is it a normal thing???

Could be fine or the sign of respiratory illness.
Keep an eye on her.
Get some video of the 'wheezing' if at all possible.

I to had a chicken that was wheezing and she looked healthy although distressed and I thought she had something stick in her air way. I tried to get her to drink which didn't help. I sat and held her for awhile, wondering what I will do and she started breathing normally. Long story short, after watching the chickens, I realized one of the others was picking on her and she wheezed whenever the other one cornered her, or she couldn't escape. It was the first time I ever saw anxiety/panic attacks in chickens! She breathed so hard I could hear her from a distance. I gave them more room, some alfalfa bales to play with and it stopped. I'm not saying that's the problem with your chicken but I hope you find the problem soon and it's an easy fix! When the pets are in distress, so are we!

Shes mostly at the top of the pecking order so there shouldn't be a reason for her to be distressed should there? I mean to be fair it was night time and quiet and I was listening to her breathing but it was very slightly heavy. Am I overreacting? sorry I get worried about them sometimes. She looks fine and healthy from what I can see.

Im going to search a video of what a wheezing chicken looks like and see what I can compare. I have 2 Plymouth which I cant tell whos who sometimes. It was dark and quiet so I might of just heard her breathing but to me it sounded heavy because it was very quiet so I don't know I will keep an eye out.

okay i checked out wheezing vis of chickens and I think she was just breathing a little loudish for me to hear when I stuck my head in. I don't think she was wheezing at all just a "heavy" breather.

I'm glad all is okay for you! It's alright to worry about them, we are their caretakers! We have them penned up so we have to do right by them! There are so many chicken people here, and advice is free, so it's easy to ask questions. Good luck!

Thank you. I'm having another problem with my Plymouth idk if it's the hard breathing one or the other one I cant tell but check out my latest thread if you want.
