I have a question for you chicken gurus.

I love Fall and love decorating for it which includes displaying pumpkins on my front porch(I'm even growing Rouge vif D'Etampes aka Cinderella pumpkins). My chickens are free range and have already ruined a number of flowers and plants. Do you think they'll peck my pumpkins? I'm fairly certain they will since the buggers eat and destroy everything but I'm hoping someone here has some ideas or advice on any preventive measures I can take.

Yup, they will, and barely thank you for a smorgasbord!

Other than putting the pumpkins out of chicken's reach, there is not much you can do.

Chickens love pumpkin.

At least you have something good to do with the pumpkins after the decorating season is over.

I've got ducks, so I can just put things up where they can't reach. I guess that doesn't work with chickens.
