Chickens and Ducks on my small hobby farm

Chickens are beautiful and come in so many varieties. When can I move my chicks outdoors. Last year I think I kept them in the brooder too long.

Some folks actually raise them outside by simply providing a heat source. If they are fully feathered and your temperatures are moderate, move them out yesterday.

No. They won't.
Raising them outside is easy to do, but the need a secure environment, that is predator ( including rodent and snake) proof.

And safe from adult chickens.
I've never raised chicks inside. Always outside in a built-in brooder in the coop with a brooder plate or in the garage in a homemade brooder.
