I have a chicken pen that is 58' long x 48' wide; with trees, and a 10'x4' coop with 8 nest boxes. Right now, I have 8 adult chickens living there and I have 2 turkey chicks, 5 Aracuna chicks and 5 Jersy Giant chicks (2 months old) waiting in another pen to be big enough to go in with the others. Would I be able to add about 8 ducks to the mix? The chicks are living in a pen that is 20' x 10'. Could I put everyone together or should I put the chickens in the big pen and let the ducks have the smaller one?

Everyone will prolly give different answers here. My birds share a coop, guineas, ducks, chickens. Others are penned for breeding purposes. Although they do get to free range and are not penned all the time. I even have a BA hen sitting on a dozen eggs in the same coop and no issues, until I walk into the coop. Multiple males might cause issues but before I split my flock I had 2 BA roos and 2 guinea males all in that coop. Untilspring mating season kicked in then the BA roos started fighting.

Everyone seems to go their own way when they decide its time to go out for the day. Most nights we don't even close the coop door. And never had issues, although this might change.
