chickens, and garden ponds.

So I think I want to build a garden pond with some goldfish in it.
Do you think the chickens would poop in it, or otherwise mess
with it much?

i would be more worried about them drowning. I would put a fence or something around it.

I have 2 garden ponds and the chickens are attracted to the water fall, I have lost 2 younger birds to drowning, but other wise no problems. They get a drink and move on.

I have a pond in the actual chicken run and have never had a problem. I haven't even seen the chickens attempt to drink out of it. I do keep the water level a bit low in comparison to the surrounding rocks though so maybe that is why they haven't tried drinking from it.

Just a note, I have never let any chickens younger than 3 months near it.

Good luck, personally I like the look it adds to the coop/run... And they do not poop into it at all.
