Closing the shed door at dusk is the best way to prevent losses but it takes dedication to be sure that you'r home each evening for that, and keeping our feathered freinds penned in continuously isn't as enjoyable for most of us nor the birds. So, I guess we do the best we can to satisfy all needs. BTW, fox, raccoon, coyote, mt. lion, hawks, etc. need food too.
