Chickens and names

I just have a simple question. Do chickens learn their names?

Some of mine respond to their names, some don't. I don't know if they don't know them or they are just ignorning me, like my cat and kids do when I call them!

Piggy and Derby come running to their names. I think they think it's the key word for 'treat!' Piggy! -treat!... sounds alike to me.

I kinda think a couple of mine do, but it could be wishful thinking. Betsy probably would come to me if I called her Frogface. Or anything else.

I do use their individual names all the time, when talking to them. Especially when they come close individually. Or when I "ask" to take an egg out of the nest from under one of 'em. Bernadette seems to respond to her name, as do Betsy and Carl the rooster.

Gryeyes: Bernadette and Carl, great names! Carl is so serious sounding, it's really giving me a laugh thinking of you calling him. "Come along now, Carl". Too funny. I'm getting 8 Bantams (being shipped today!) and I'm trying to come up with creative names like that.
