You can! But I hear that chickens spread diesease to the peacocks. I dont know what kind so maybe some one can jump in?

A lot or people say you can but my uncle's peacocks have killed chickens. They on of the males pecked the top of a hen's skull off so you could see her brain, the hen lived for two weeks until my uncle killed her. His males were really aggressive though he had to clip their wings so one was stuck outside an open topped run and one was stuck in. If they could get at each other they would stop at nothing to kill each other even though they had acres to roam around.

I think their are many different thoughts on this....

How do they get along? were they raised together with chickens before you got them? do you have the black.. oh crap I cant beleive my mind went blank.. but that is the disease they get from chickens.. is it prevalent in your area?? chickens can and do give diseases to peafowl.. its going to have to be a risk you take....is it worth the risk?

Now I keep chickens and peafowl kinda together, but I can seperate at a moments notice.. they dont sleep in the same area.. at night.. I always seperate them by evening.. and they get pretty much the day together.. but I have large enough areas ( I think for them to get away from one another) Having the two areas/ two seperate pens.. I wanted originally to keep them seperate.. its not happening though.. seeing that my peafowl.. scream/ only when I do seperate them from the chickens... but if one became aggressive to my chickens.. I have the option to seperate and keep them seperate.

I also got my peafowl from a breeder that does raise her chickens and peafowl together- so my peafowl grew up with chickens... and she never lost a peafowl to a chicken disease in the 10 years of raising peafowl

To me its a very personal thing and personal decision.

Good luck on what you decide.
