Chickens and prices

My son sold 12 rooster, adults back yard birds he raise this summer, at a auction at Huntville Ar. last saturday for 86 dollars for the 12.
the roosters we raise this spring could be a valueable side line if the prices hold.
A frying chicken in the store is going for over 6 dollars this week.
No doubt the buyer will eat the roosters.
 
chickens must be different prices at other locations....here in Ga...a good layer brings 12.00 and rooster about the same....at feed stores and flea markets.....
 
that does sound a little steep 25.00 but if they are getting that....people can go over the mountain to big d's in dalton and get them cheaper.......they have alot of chickens there but no show chickens...
 
I only get $2.00 a rooster most people around here just give them away.
