We are the proud keepers of 8 Rhode Island Reds, 1 Bantam Brama, and 4 Indian Runner Ducks (2 Chocolate and 2 Black/White). They are all about 3 months old with the exception of the Black/White runners as they are just now getting all of their feathers. Everything is going pretty well. I believe all my poultry are hens and am waiting for eggs.

Welcome! I grew up in Jackson County FL. I think you will love this site and learn so much from it.

Glad to see someone in Pace. What area of Pace are you in? I'd be interested in knowing how much area your chickens have and the size of your coop? Also, are they free range chickens and if so, do they stay close to home? So far, our chickens haven't wandered off and haven't "jumped the fence" between our home and the neighbor's home. I wondered how long that would last.......hoping it'd be a while. I had chickens over a decade ago while living on a farm so there was plenty of roaming room, but now I no longer have the acreage. Do you sell your hens? I've never had a broody hen, so I'm not counting on chicks that way. I don't have an incubator, either, so my only option is to buy more if I want more. One more question. What do you do if you go on vacation? I hate to ask the neighbors to care for the chickens. What do you do?
