I'm from Ohio too, and last year we worried and kept the girls locked up when it was really really cold. I let them out this morning and they couldn't wait to get out of their covered run.
I will block their pop door when it gets really cold. We have even put a light bulb in there at times just to make sure they were warm, we have cochins, and they have big waddles!
My ducks love the snow are out there eating it right now, they love icicles the best, break them up and toss them in their run and they go nuts!!!
We also put a light out in the duck coop when it get really cold.
I'm just a worry wart!
