Chickens and squash bugs

Every year me and my family like to plant a small garden of a few vegetables and flowers, but we always have one small problem. Squash bugs. Is there any way that I can have my chickens eat the bugs and not the plants?

Umm. I wish i knew that answer. Lol. Maybe after the plants are big enough and for only short periods of time.

I knocked the squash bugs off the plant into a jar and tossed them to the chickens. They wouldn’t touch them. I do let the chickens into the garden at the end of every season to, hopefully, eat any eggs or larvae in the soil. Other than that I patrol the plants everyday, looking for and removing squash bug eggs.
