Chickens and tropical storms/hurricanes

Hello!

My chickens and ducks just moved into their coop and CT is going to get hit with a tropical storm tomorrow with 70mph winds. The coop is secured. We live on top of a hill with woods all around. The wind gets pretty strong with the hill. Guess I'm not sure if I should bring them in? I am pretty worried about losing power, trees falling, predators etc.

Well, 70mph winds will bring down large limbs and shallow rooted trees. If it would make you feel better, bring them in. I wouldnt worry about predators too much till after the storm passes.

Yeah, Limbs or trees falling on the coop would be my biggest concern.

If they can go in a kennel in your garage or basement I'm sure the construction is more secure than the coop.

I'm sorry you are getting the storm. Here in the Space Coast of Florida we were expecting to get slammed by the wind. We got a lot of wind and rain bands. We locked up the coop shutters, secured strapping across the roof and anchored the straps into the ground. If that doesn't work for you, I'd bring them inside.
