This spring when I purchased chicks I also bought 2 turkeys, one of which did not survive. I was told today that I can not keep chickens and turkeys together because the turkeys will catch a parasite from the chickens that will be fatal. Does anyone know if this is true or not? I really just wanted to turkeys for the fun of it, but don't want it to die either. Thanks in advance.

Yes it is true. But this also depends on if it is a problem in your area. It is called blackhead disease. Call your local ag. extension office and ask them about blackhead disease in your area.

like he said ,I keep both together without any problem, but I mostly keep heritage types, the BB's I raise become dinner after 22 weeks

That's ok. I reread my stuff after a post and the grammer and spelling shock me sometimes. I need to learn to proof read my own post.
