On top of my chickens not wanting to go outside to there run ( they are 9 weeks) today I watched them running all around the coop.
One bird will start running around and charge another. Sometimes the feathers on there neck will get puffed up. They will bang into each other and they will connect beaks. In Between all of this they rub there beaks on the roost.
I'm assuming they are establishing there pecking order. It sure is entertaining.

My young roos do that with each other...I'm thinking it's like when kids wrestle just to see who is stronger or braver.
It cracks me up...I'm just always scared it will turn real one day.

All of my chicks did that. It normal and fun. No worries mate.

It sure is fun to watch ... We've got a runty golden Sebright that I am assuming is a cockerel due to his huge comb and wattles (huge compared to the other Sebrights anyway). He is so little but he is fast and he is fearless. I've seen him face off with chickens WAY bigger than him. He just flaps his wings to get off the ground and up to their level and gets right in their face. It's a riot!
