Right now my chickens are free range, hopefully tomorrow I'll get a fence up. Anyway I have one poisonous plant in the back called Cup of Yellow Vine. It is in the nightshade family. My neighbor told me not to worry because the chickens won't eat it if it poisonous. I cut the leaves back off the bottom of the vine just in case. I was out watering the other day and noticed the bottom leaves are all chewed halfway off. Then today I looked out and I see a couple of the chickens at the vine jumping to get to the lower leaves. This seems to have been going on for a while and no one has gotten sick. So are chickens immune to some poisonous plants?

No, they are not immune. They will eat any green thing if there is nothing else green. Small amount will not hurt them, though. Give them more greens that are tasty, and they will not eat your nightshades. Those are bitter, sweet greens like alfalfa sprouts, you are good to go!
