How do I cool my chickens down? I've tried "dunking" them in water buckets and splashing them with water. They don't like that. I've also tried using a spray bottle to mist them. They don't like that.

Please help! Temps are around 80 degrees F. and they are panting/holding there wings away from their bodies!

Thanks!

P.S. I have Golden Laced Wyandotte's and Buff Orpington's.

Have you considered doing a search "How to cool down chickens? this is one of the most commonly asked questions out there, to answer your question, 80F is not that bad for a chicken, mine have farewelled fine at 95F, in hot humid Iowa. Provide shade, and water and they'll be fine.

Frozen melons frozen strawberries frozen berries. Anything frozen they like as a treat. Put ice cubes in there water make sure they have shade and they will be fine. Just keep changing there water and put ice cubes in it. They will not drink warm water and they will become dehydrated. They hate warm water. So just keep changing there water for fresh cold water with ice cubes. Or freeze water bottle and put then in a rubber dish to keep it cool in the shade.
