We went from 14 to 6 chickens in 4 days; we let them free range during the day and in the coop at night.
Locked them all up in the coop and man were they mad...but alive. It is a nice, big coop but closed in on three sides and wood floor, no run.
Had to do something quickly so we bought a coop & attached run. Slightly happier but still not as happy as when they had theirfreedom.
Long term plan..LGD! That’s right and we found one at our local shelter. We know he is Great Peryneese but man he took to the farm life. We are only a week into it but training is going good and we are hopeful.
We think he thinks Dolly Llama is his mom! Scout is his name and man we are are in love! He is our first outside dog. Eventual dream is to put coop in large (2 acres) fenced in area and let chicks free range with Scout on patrol. Put them in coop at night.
Read 3 books on LGD, listen to one audio but and additional training books or video suggestions would be great!
Thanks, Tara
