Chickens are tearing up my barn

I was rewiring some solar panels today, and had several helpers underfoot. If I really need to work and don't have time to pet them or make sure the environment is safe (like making sure all wire pieces are in my pocket instead of in a little pile on the ground), I leave them in the run. They will talk to me through the hwc!

Do you have any Scratch ? shovel a path away from the barn and put
Scratch in the path . Also if the grass is showing they will eat it .
Do you have a box fan ? turn it on & they should avoid it .
I give my free range chickens Chopped Kale when it snows & they cant get any green stuff . Do you give them anything supplemental
to eat ? Bread ? Salad ? Leftovers ?
