chickens as house pets? Opinions and views

what kind of chickens are theiy? because the bigger the bird the bigger the poop.like a jersey jiant could never come inside my house,but a bantam could,well maybe a jersey jiant depending on certain factors

I have a question, am I the only crazy one here who shares food with their chickens or lets them eat off your plate ocasionally ?

Yes I share my food....I make them have manners and behave. But eating WITH chickens, meaning you take a bite and then they take a bite and then you put it back in your mouth (take a bite) is hazardous to Your Health! Please don’t do that.

I'm not judging anyone but that a Lil cray cray.
Can you imagine the smell and sagging soggy diapers? I mean, my chickens crap big loads every few minutes.. it would blow a face mask in half in a matter of minutes.
I don't think the chicken would enjoy having its own poo load smashed right on it's rear end.

Just having all that poop smushed up against the rear end and feathers....is not good. (Images of projectile poop) yuck

it's okay,my mom thinks the same thing and it drives her crazy when I take the silkies out and sit on the steps,leaning against the door,with them,my little roo and hen.

I have a chair outside also and sit and talk to my girls...I find it my relaxation away from everything else...soothes the soul.

I do and you should read the thread people with house chickens,and chickens do sooth the soul,especially when they are at their antics

I think it is time for to the OP to let us know her age because my guess is 9 - 12 years old. All the points made here that speak of an indoor life being bad for the chicken should answer her question. Let the chicken be a chicken - outside! I love my chickens, and spend hours with them - out in the yard. Are you that afraid of being outdoors? If you want something to cuddle and care for in your house get a cat.
